Together with the Daily Facials Clarify Lathering Cleanser, this solved my cystic and other acne problems for well over a year. Goes on matte, absorbs quickly. Have stopped it as have developed skin reactions to stress, but this was my HG moisturiser for ages.

    THIS PRODUCT IS DISCONTINUED
thought I should write that in case someone is looking for a new great moisturizer.
This product was THE BEST product. EVER. EVER of ALL time. I loved it and the price isn't so bad either.
It doesn't leave my skin greasy or dry, it minimizes my pores, it fights acne, it has antioxidants in it so it fights aging, it has skin identical ingredients like glycerin to also fight aging, it evens my complexion.... it fights wrinkles AND pimples.. that's so hard to find! Excellent product.
I would buy again if I could ;(

This was my HG moisturizer. I am 40 and still have breakouts. This stopped all the breakouts. And I guess the wrinkle prevention works; I am often mistaken for much younger.
    Pro-
    non greasy
    smells nice
    stops breakouts
    SPF included
    Cons
    lots of extra packaging
I cannot find this anywhere, brick or online. I have switched to Neutragena Anti-Blemish Anti-Wrinkle Healthy Skin moisturizer. But it doesnt contain SPF.

Never again! My skin broke out like crazy. I do break out some time, but not at all bad. Wasn't sure it was this product broke me out. So i did a little test. I stopped using it for 3-4 days, no new break outs. Then back on use it, guess what? Yup, 3 pimples the next day! Oh my god, wish i found out earlier. My skin was never this bad b4, and is seriously depressing me now, but that's ok, at least i know what caused the problem.

I have been a member of MUA for quite some time, and it is always my go to place before I buy anything. However, this is my first review. I have just purchased this moisturizer from Olay and am exceedingly surprised of all the recent reviews of this product which have caused breakouts for many people of similar oily, acne prone, 30-ish skin.
My prior experience with Olay has been that it was better for dry or combo-dry skin. I had some experience with Olay back in the 80;s and found it just made my oily skin SO much more greasy looking. However, I read a lot of positive reviews around the total effects line and decided to give it a try.
Just a little background...I have VERY oily skin, and prone to breakouts every few weeks or so, and more so lately around my special time of the month. I recently had a bad cystic breakout and started using this product. It IMMEDIATELY made a difference in my acne, skin tone, AND oiliness! I notice that I do not have to blot as much during the day and my makeup looks more matte.
    I highly recommend this product!!!

Afain I get to know that listening to ad is bad. I recall certain youtube guru braging about Olay's brand. I wanted some anti-wrinkle produc for oily skin and since Olay's were on sale I decided to try it. I honestly regret it. Luckily it didn't break me out but dripping sebum is not what I've been expecting. It's for oily skin, should treat the problem, my sin is not oily anymore in famous t-zone. it's oily everywhere, I can scratch sebum off my face with a spoon.

This is the only moisturizer that I tried that impresses me the most out of all the drugstore products and expensive brand this rates top of the notch for me! For those that are struggling with occasional breakouts and have combination skin this product works a treat! Its not too heavy not too light, it goes on smoothly and gives your skin a mild glow. While healing existing blemishes it moisturizes dry area while controlling oily area. Love this so much I used it non-stop for 4 years now.

Quite pleased with this drug store product.
I have used the olay total effects moisturiser before but was not stoked by the effects, was okay but did not like the oiliness it produced after application, and did not feel any profound effects.
However with this one, beyond my hopes, it turned out to be quite pleasing. it goes on matt, controls shine, so does not turn face into oily film. Although not specified, the amount of salicyc acid seems to have pretty good effects on keeping pores clear, as i have acne prone skin. (however, not sure if this is also attributed to the accumulated credits of retin-A use, prior to commencement of using this cream.
I will come and edit if i this has some down effects, but it is non comodogenic, so not believed to cause break outs.
Only downfall is no spf, but since it is not oily i can use in day time with another spf. product.
Its texture is smooth N easy to apply, and the matt finish makes it make up friendly, seems to help oil absorption.
buy this product when olay is on promotion....can be up to aud $5 cheaper when on special.

I originally bought this product to replace my Neutrogena healthy skin anti-wrinkle anti-blemish moisturizer only because I was having a hard time finding it in stores. High hopes lead me to belive it would work just as well and help me to continue to kill 2 birds with one stone (being anti-blemish and anti-wrinkle). My skin tends to break out easily and this product did nothing for my break outs. Not only did I continue to break out but my skin felt very dry after using the product as it also left a white film on my face. I hate to wast products I paid for so after trying to use this on my face and not liking it I decided to use this on my body thinking that it might have some sort of anti-aging benefits. It made my body skin look even worse than before and very dried out as well. Needless to say I won't be repurchasing.

I can't believe this product has got such a high review! After reading other peoples comments, I bought this from Superdrug and tried it for two weeks daily. The result? My skin looked worse than ever. Thick, greasy consistency no matter how little I applied. My skin was so shiny I was blotting it every two hours and it still felt tacky! Worsened my blackheads on my T-zone and I had a few nasty under-the-skin bumps developing too (I usually have a hormonal sprout once a month usually, but after this I had four!). Total waste of money, just goes to prove a little salicylic acid does not a anti-blemish face cream make.

This product is my HG night cream. I took off one lippie because I don't know if this is contributing to these small congested pimples i'm getting around chin area. But it hasnt made me broke out horribly. It also seems to help heal my acne scars somewhat faster. Things that I love about this is that it lived up to what it claims to do. My skin tone is much improved (I stopped using Kiehl's lycopene because of Olay's effectiveness...so there you go!) and it makes my skin so soft and moisturized. The quantity is alright, will last you about month and a half to two months max. Price is not so cheap for drugstore brand but it's better than spending +$100 in department store brands and getting same effect or less! Will definitely repurchase + not planning to try out other brands for quite some times :)
UPDATE: After several weeks of using this product, my face was still dry, if not, dry-er. In addition, i also got breakheads around my forehead which i normally don't have. Not recommended for easily-congested-skin people!

This is a really gentle moisturizer and I'm using it in conjunction w/ other acne products. My face isn't drying out and I know this is the reason. It's a light texture and smells really good. I'm not a fan of Olay products but I think I really like this one. My skin is staying clear and it's plumping my fine lines! YEA!!! EDIT: have to go from 4 up to a 5 because my skin looked the best it ever has while I used this product. More even skin tone, no acne, and lines are diminished. You will more than likely need an add'l moisturizer in the winter as this is light but it is HG material imo.

Sooooo creamy! This moisturizer is definitely good for someone who's got dryer skin and looking to fight the occasional blemish. I have pretty oily skin and even I like it. However, throughout the day, my face did feel a little more oily when I used this. I will someday buy this again, but in the mean time, I'm going to stick with my clean & clear moisturizer. continued >>

I really like this. I just turned 25 and I thought it might be time to start an anti-aging regimen. BUT I still have sensitive skin, so I didn't want anything to greasy or "mature." So, I've been using it as a night cream for the past 2 weeks and I'm impressed with the way my skin looks. It's softer, more even and I don't have a single breakout! My old acne scars are even lighter! It's too moisturizing for me to wear over my makeup during the day (and it has no spf), but it's the perfect balance at night. I'll def. purchase this again!
**I also use the matching cleanser with this at night. It's fab!

This is the only day cream I can use that does not cause me to breakout. Every time I've strayed I always end up coming back to this product. This is my daytime moisturizer & I mix a drop of 100% tea tree oil when I apply it. I noticed it helps to spread the product nicely on my skin. I like the fact that it is light weight, absorbs quickly into the skin so makeup application after is not an issue. My only wish is that Olay should come out with a version that has an SPF. But overall a very nice moisturizer for those suffering from mild to moderate acne. continued >>

First off, the tube is great packaging- no jar, no mess, no contamination. Second, the product is good- it moisturizes enough for oily/combo skin and helps fight off break outs. The price is good, the smell is mild. This is NOT tinted like I have read on some of the reviews. Also, it is not an oil controller- it seems that some people disappointed in the product seem to think this should keep oil at bay; it does not, but it is a light moisturizer so it doesn't drench the skin with greasiness. The only con is that it doesn't contain spf.

This would probably work for people with VERY oily skin. I have combination skin for the most part, and I found this to be almost drying on my skin. It leaves this weird white cast as well, which is strange because this product doesn't contain any SPF. Also, when I applied makeup over this, I looked ghastly - very pale, and my skin just looked tired and slightly dehydrated. The only reason I tried this in the first place was because I was looking for a daytime moisturizer that I could get at any drugstore to kind of bring down the price of my whole skin care regimen, but honestly, for only 1.7 ounces of product with a price tag of almost $20, your better off trying something like the Shiseido Pureness line or something else more high end.

I started using this at night about two weeks ago. At first I got a
few bumps on my face and was leary about keeping using it, but they have cleared.
I have a oily t-zone, and this has seemed to balance the area. Takes just a pearl size for the face.
I really like the way it spreads, and love the tube it comes in- I hate jar creams that you stick your fingers in.
So far has not dried out my skin even in the heated house and cold weather.
I will use this at night and Olay 7 with sunscreen during the day.
I see alot of reviews want sunscreen added to this, but I've read that sunscreen isn't effective with the ph level of this product.
So better to use this at night and sunscreen during the day.
I seem to be sensitive to alot of moisturizer I've tried , and they seem to make me too oily, but so far I'm liking this.
When I'm done with the tube if my opinion changes I'll let you know.
Still loving this after a month, I use it at night. I love the tube, the way it spreads, I don't break out anymore, my pores look smaller- great stuff.

The absolute best moisturizer for my oily, aging skin. I have made the mistake of switching from brand to brand this past year and have wasted too much money. This is the absolute best to keep my skin clear and help ward off wrinkles. I took one lippie off because it does not have spf.
